Social-technical Systems
AI systems are socio-technical because they combine technical elements (algorithms, data, machine learning) with social factors (human input, ethics, and societal impact). They require careful consideration of both aspects to ensure responsible use. According to the TTC Joint Roadmap on AI, trustworthy AI must be valid, reliable, safe, fair, secure, accountable, transparent, explainable, and privacy-enhanced. Balancing these factors is crucial for ethical AI deployment, user experience, and societal well-being.
