Conformity Assessment
Conformity assessment is the process of determining whether a product, system, or service meets specific standards or requirements, as defined by organizations like the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and ISO. It involves testing, inspection, and verification to ensure compliance with regulations, contracts, or industry norms. In Responsible AI Governance, conformity assessments—also called compliance testing—evaluate AI systems for reliability, accuracy, fairness, and transparency. These assessments provide confidence to buyers, consumers, and regulators by ensuring consistency and adherence to required characteristics across products, services, and systems, reinforcing trust in global markets.
